The Experience I Bring

Why Jamie?
You want to produce a podcast, television show, and more social media?
Then you are in the right place!
I come with the background to help you turn your idea into content.
I've spent decades behind the camera at CNN, Fox News Channel, MSNBC, and BET, deciding what we discuss, how we craft shows, and even decide who gets featured and who gets ignored.
I know what it takes to go from unknown to known and can help you lay the groundwork or level-up to sell more books, build a following, or attract press.

The Moments that Shaped Me
The Journey to (ON CAM) Ready
#childhood
Growing up in New Jersey, I was the kid who sang on every stage that would have me—school assemblies, talent shows, local events. Being in front of an audience felt natural, even exhilarating.
That early confidence eventually found a new outlet when I joined my high school’s TV news crew. There, I discovered the thrill of storytelling and the power of production. I helped produce our daily morning show—not just for the school, but for local public access.
Looking back, it was the perfect mix of presence and purpose—performing with intention. And in many ways, it set the stage for everything I do today.
#Globallife
After high school, I was awarded a scholarship to study in Africa—a transformative experience that deepened my curiosity about the world and sparked a passion for storytelling. Around the same time, I was selected by Johns Hopkins University to write for Imagine Magazine and contributed articles to my local newspaper. These early opportunities showed me that journalism wasn’t just something I consumed—it was something I was meant to do.
In college, I continued to expand my global perspective by traveling the world with Semester at Sea, further fueling my love for international studies and cross-cultural connection. These experiences laid the foundation for my future in journalism—where curiosity, communication, and storytelling would become my career.
#Reporter_Producer
I started in college as a reporter’s and production assistant, then landed an internship at MSNBC that became my first full-time role. After a brief reporting stint in New Jersey, I was recruited by Fox News Channel. That’s when Fox News Channel recruited me to join their affiliate news services. At FOX, I wore many hats: field producer, live shot producer, writer, editor, and eventually the creator and lead producer of FOX Extra—a short-form news series that continues to air internationally to this day. Those years gave me the grit, speed, and editorial instincts that have shaped every role since.
#pageantlife
Inspired by FOX’s Gretchen Carlson, I entered the Miss America Organization pageant system while working at MSNBC. With her guidance—and the help of the performance coach she connected me with—I earned the title of first runner-up to Miss New Jersey.
Though I didn’t compete at the national level, the Miss America stage still became part of my journey. Shortly after joining Fox News Channel, I was assigned to cover the pageant for FoxNews.com—bringing my experience full circle, this time as a journalist.
#OnCamera
#OnCameraNerves
Yes, I’ve been on stage—and yes, I’ve had stage fright.
In my 20s, even while reporting for FoxNews.com and appearing in live discussions, I battled nerves—especially during pageants and live segments. But working at FOX gave me something invaluable: a front-row seat to top-tier talent.
While producing digital content and spotlighting rising reporters, I had the unique opportunity to both shape on-camera careers and experience the pressure myself. It was the best of both worlds—and the foundation for everything I teach today.
#FunFact
While at FOX, I joined the Mike Huckabee Show band—and yes, we performed live on Fox News Channel, complete with his signature “Mike Huckabee” song.
Performing in front of a live studio audience, under the lights and in sync with camera cues, was a whole new challenge—and an unforgettable one. I wasn’t just producing a live show; I was in it. Surrounded by cameras, lights, and a full studio setup, I gained a deeper understanding of live television from both sides of the lens.
It was the ultimate blend of performance and production—and a moment that still makes me smile.
#CNNLife
While traveling the world in college, I made a decision: I wanted to work for CNN.
Years later, when I was recruited to join CNN in Atlanta, I faced one of the toughest decisions of my career. I loved the fast-paced, entrepreneurial spirit of my work at FOX News Channel—but the opportunity at CNN was a dream I couldn’t ignore.
I took the leap. And for nearly 12 years, I produced content full-time at CNN—working on some of its most high-profile programming. Today, I remain a trusted freelancer for the network, bringing the same editorial integrity and production savvy to everything I do.
#Guesting
At CNN, I helped launch new shows, pitched and booked high-profile guests, and stepped into the world of podcasting.
It was a fast-paced, high-stakes environment—and I loved every moment of it. While my time at FOX News gave me a strong editorial foundation, CNN is where I truly evolved as a producer. It’s where I sharpened my eye for talent, learned how to shape compelling narratives under pressure, and developed the storytelling instincts I now use to help others find their voice.
I’m proud of the work I did—and even more proud of how those years shaped the way I serve my clients today.
#BET
After Reliable Sources ended, I pivoted into a contract role at BET, serving as Executive in Charge and Line Producer for a range of Unscripted programming. Over the next year and a half, I expanded my production skillset beyond news—overseeing documentaries and managing the linear rollout of The Breakfast Club.
#FunFact
While at BET I also produced a primetime special featuring Vice President Kamala Harris.
One unexpected highlight? I served as the Vice President’s camera-ready tester—a full-circle on-camera moment I even got to joke with her about.
Working at BET allowed me to blend journalistic integrity with entertainment storytelling, further sharpening my ability to lead high-stakes productions while keeping talent comfortable, confident, and camera-ready.
#Podcasting
While at BET I could create my own business so I began testing the waters with podcasting, YouTube creation and social media. I spent 2 years trying and testing.
I eventually co-created The Media Mix with Claire Atkinson.
#Independent_creator
Since 2025 I have been on a mission to help more high-stakes communicators and thought-leaders turn their ideas into content.
Through contract services, workshops and speaking engagements I help professionals level-up online by sharing how to think like a producer.
I am also available for freelance TV News assignments, segment producing, guest booking, podcasting and special projects.
Confidence. Credibility. Clarity.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned after decades in national news and storytelling—it’s this:
Confidence on camera doesn’t just happen. It’s built—with strategy and a producer’s mindset.
I’ve spent my career both behind the lens and in front of it—producing for top networks like CNN, FOX News, MSNBC, and BET. Today, I help experts, executives, and creators show up with clarity, lead with credibility, and create content that connects.
Working with me means learning to think like a producer—so you can stop guessing and start growing. You’ll gain the insight, structure, and support needed to transform your message into content that actually moves people.
Will it take effort? Of course. But it’s worth it—because when your presence is aligned with your purpose, people pay attention.
If my journey speaks to you, I’d love to help:
